Leaving Egypt is a podcast exploring what it means to be God’s people in a time of unravelling. It’s the fruit of a transatlantic partnership between Jenny Sinclair in the UK, and Alan Roxburgh in Canada. In fortnightly episodes, Al and Jenny welcome guests from across the Christian traditions. Together, they interpret the signs of the times with leading thinkers, and share stories of hope from Christians sensing the Holy Spirit calling them into the reweaving of life in their local communities.
MEET ALAN AND JENNY
Alan J Roxburgh is a widely published theologian, pastor and consultant with more than 40 years experience in church leadership and seminary education. Influenced by the work of Lesslie Newbigin, Al founded The Missional Network and most recently has co-founded the Commons Co-operative. Alan lives in Vancouver, Canada, though he grew up in Liverpool - a place that taught him to be suspicious of authority, and that the safest place is to be with people in the neighbourhood.
Jenny Sinclair is Founder and Director of Together for the Common Good, a charity dedicated to spiritual and civic renewal. Drawing on Catholic Social Thought, the organisation engages churches, charities, leaders, and schools with online resources, in-person talks and a schools’ programme. A convert to Catholicism of over 35 years, Jenny is the daughter of an Anglican bishop. She also has Liverpool connections, having lived there in her teens, and lives there now.
